The studio was asked to create a temporary structure to protect the public from the elements while the more permanent PATH station entry was being constructed. We decided to create from a prefabricated tent structure elements that allowed stretched fabric to protect as well as an intermediate layer that allowed natural light to filter into the center of the canopy’s opening. Again as in other interactive projects the structure became the identifier.
